Since their inception in 2022, VOCAL-KY has been actively engaged in non-partisan voter engagement work. Last year, they knocked on 4000 doors, made 3000 literature drops, 5500 phone calls and texts, and the are doing even more for this year’s general election.
They gave more than 40 voters rides to the polls for early voting and on Election Day as well as having a total of 223 new registrants – 46 of those had their rights restored and found out they could vote!
Many of VOCAL-KY’s members, leaders, and staff have been justice involved and disenfranchised, so they know firsthand the power of these votes and how much it means to have this right restored.
The group continues their #VOCALKYVOTES work again this election season, and is excited to continue to build awareness and participation in our democracy in every way.
